Woman Involved in Hit-and-Run Escapes So Ice Cream Won't Melt - as part of the news series by GeoBeats. No one likes melted ice cream, but one driver took it a step further to make sure her ice cream made it into the freezer. A woman in Arkansas left the scene of a hit and run accident and told the police that she was in a hurry to get home because she had ice cream in her car and she was worried that it would melt if she stopped. The woman was heading home when she rear ended a truck and kept driving. The driver she hit called police and followed her to her house where police say the woman told them “I left because I did not want my ice cream to melt.” The most common excuse for speeding, that police in Lincoln, Nebraska hear, is that the person has digestion problems and has to use the bathroom. “I know there are the standard excuses, but I once had a girl tell me she was speeding because she had terrible diarrhea and she was rushing home before it struck again. After looking at her face I believed her and let her go." said the officer.
