You know, when I started calling my girlfriends and asking them about their sex life, which is I suppose brutally invasive, they didn’t want to talk about it, and I began to realize that a lot of women hit their 50s and they just give up. And it’s almost as though they give up with relief, and I am not sure why that is, but I am completely convinced based on my own experience that it has to have a lot to do with hormones. I didn’t think about sex and I was in my late 30s when I lost my hormones, so I can certainly understand how a woman in her 50s is just like done with the whole thing. Now I am not saying you should go on hormones just to bring back a sex life because there are some negative consequences to being on hormones for some women, and a lot of it depends on your family history. You have to talk to your doctor, but if it works for you, it’s going to bring back kind of the totality of female health, which includes female sexuality.
