Why Entrepreneurs Measure Twice Before Cutting Once - Dan Street Erik Michielsen: What do you enjoy so much about research and how is your father’s academic work inspired it? Dan Street: My dad is a thinker. He’s a fungus research, which sounds really creepy and weird. But both of my parents are sort of the seat to understand kind of mentality. My mom is a real avid reader and they both really try to understand the world around them. I think that influence me and that I'm a measure once, cut once kind of guy and my primary mode of working about things is seek first to understand, before you move and make action. That’s not necessarily suited me, created me as an entrepreneur all the time. I tend to a little bit over the same things. But I never had – it leads me to really cool paths. So I think through things in a way that other people necessarily don’t. And that creates new opportunities. A lot of times I over think and I don’t do enough action, but I think this is a tradeoff to it. I mean, there's no perfect answer.
