Why a Woman Should Have a Role Model Women need good role models to show them that they can have a balanced life. It’s okay to be a motivated orthopedic surgeon but yet you can have a great family life, also. You need good role models to show you that and it’s good to have a mentor that’s a female because there are unique issues that arise when you are a female orthopedic surgeon.
