What Is Fever A fever is just the bodies raising of the core temperature to fight off some sort of infection so the temperature goes above what we consider the normal range which normal, we usually consider it 98.6 degrees farenheight. Anytime the temperature gets extremely high we consider that a fever. In an adult, we really don’t get concerned until it’s gets in to the—above the 103 and definitely up into the 106 range, and in children, anything above a 100.4 for a very young child or above 102 in a child above the age of three months is something that you’re prom tot call your pediatrician.
