If school officials in Washington state have their way, schools will no longer have Indians, Redskins, or Braves as their mascot. The board passed a resolution asking schools to ban Native American mascots on campus. In February, 2006, the National Collegiate Athletic Association began banning 18 colleges and universities that had Native American logos, mascots, nicknames from hosting post-season competitions.
