Upper West Side NY Real Estate Guide This is JasonSheftell of the New York Daily News on the Upper West Side on 77th Street between West End Avenue and River Side Drive. West End Avenue has long been thought to be one of New York’s most elegant streets, fewer caps buildings, majestic marble lobbies and huge apartments. All electorals have always loved the Upper West Side as have families. For stylish neighborhood, always the cool neighborhood works on having incredible places to eat at Great Park. What it does have is great things for families and great cultural services like making Santa. Central Park, River Side Park, always drive children usage and one of the best public schools in the city is in this neighborhood as well. These town houses behind me built in the turn of the century. Also drive singles looking for singles for studios and one bedroom and those families who want to buy a whole townhouse for themselves. A townhouse can cost up to about $5 or $6 million. Four bedroom apartments in the pre-war coops can also go for the $3 to $5 million range. On the what’s expensive side? You’ve got studios for about $1900.00 or $1600.00. One bedroom is as much as $2800.00 to $4000.00 for very large one bedroom in beautiful townhouses. It also got some two bedrooms in the $3500.00 to $3600.00 range. That’s rare. This neighborhood is expensive for a reason. People like shopping on Broadway. They like running on River Side Park. They like the easy access outside of the city and they also like the proximity to the downtown. So what if it’s not cool? It still is a great place to live and it’s been driven by people who are looking for quiet recluse in the city not that far from midtown and very close to Central Park as well. It’s just so close to Colombia University as private schools all over this area. The retail stretches now can be driven by large big bucks retail even with this economy like American Eagle and Sephora are placing some of the smaller Mom and Pop shops, flower shops, pharmacies that made this area popular. Of course you’ve got Zabar’s and H & H Bagels here, two big New York City icons. This is a family neighborhood. It’s a quiet neighborhood. It’s people go out five a lot and walk the streets. It’s not as fashionable as it used to be, but it’s very good, hard living.
