Try to focus on bedding, rugs or cool art, says designer Vern Yip.
There are so many options for décor in kids’ rooms today and for $500, you can really go for big impact. Have a really cool mural painted or custom piece of art. Go for bedding or go for a rug, these are elements that the kids will not only be able to see, they’ll be able to feel. The floor is most often neglected surface in any room and rugs have that ability to add color, texture and pattern. Bedding is another great choice because you’re bed demands so much cubic footage in any space that it’s an automatic focal point but when selecting bedding for your kid, remember go for something that they can grown into. You want something a little more generic instead of themes, that way, they’ll enjoy it for a longer period of time. Pair it with an accent pillow that maybe has a theme and when they’re tired of that, you can get rid of it, remember, keep it machine washable.
