Jaime: My name is Jaime and I'm from Orlando, Florida. I was wondering, how old should my daughter have to be before I allow her to shave her legs? She is now in sixth grade. Nadine Kaslow: Jaime, well there's no right answer to when your daughter should start shaving her legs. I think often girls do this around fifth, sixth or seventh grade. I think that, you want to have them do it, when they need to do it and that differs by who your child is. I think it also, you want to make sure, they do it before their peers are going to start teasing them for not doing so, which appears to happen around seventh grade. I think it depends where you’re living in the country and what the cultural norms are among their peer group and have them do it around the same age as their peers.
