A great way to experience the city of Luxembourg and get some exercise is on a walking tour. Roughly one third of Luxembourg is covered in forest which is why the country is often called the green heart of Europe. Hiking through these thick forests, past impressive rock formations and bubbling brooks is a popular past time in the area and there are almost 200 official routes and flip pads to follow. The Mosel region of Luxembourg is the country’s most successful wine region due to its warm and sunny weather. This area is also a popular destination for wine tours and tastings with white wines being the most commonly produced here. The region is named for the Mosel River which flows through the area and which can be traversed on a calming boat cruise. Other water sports and boating activities are popular along the country’s water waste including kayaking and canoeing, speed boating and swimming.
