I have had a great chance to know Robert Mondavi and his family and learn his philosophy and it's a big set of shoes to fill. Making wine is a blend of art and science and it's in that order. Art is definitely the most important thing. We definitely need the science because we want to create this beautiful wine to put it in the bottle but definitely the art comes first. Because from the time in we work at the fruit at the win yard to when the wines being made to when we were blending it. A lot of that is really the art of wine making. Female Speaker2: Robert Mondavi also believed that good wine should accompany good food. Rich Arnold: From the beginning our wines have always have the goal of being ones that are very food friendly and what do we mean by food friendly? Wines that show their fruit to the vineyards; they have a good approach in the mouth. They have a clean finish and that they accompany food in an outstanding way. Female Speaker2: Rich says that he has two big tips when it comes to buying wine. Rich Arnold: There is one go with the great producer and two, learn about wine. Mr. Mondavi had the goal that he could never stands still. He always had to continuously improve and he not only set up the winery to make outstanding wines but he set up the goal that you can always improve. Female Speaker2: And so it has with age.
