Jay: Hi, I'm Jay from Washington, D.C. What are some reasons why men will develop antisperm antibodies? Christopher Saigal: Well Jay, antisperm antibodies are a concern for men in terms of the risk of infertility. The antibodies can form when the testicle is injured and the inside part of the testicles is exposed to the blood stream. Usually there’s a barrier there that keeps the blood components from the testicle. So when this inside part of the testicle is exposed, the trauma or surgery antibodies can form to that tissue to the sperm itself and that can impair fertility.
