The Heart Truth' at Pop Up Experience LA with Heidi Klum Diana Madison: I Heart Truth Campaign what’s it all about? Heidi Klum: Well I’ve been involved with Diet Coke and in the Heart Truth Campaign for the past three years and we try to raise awareness for women because the number one killer in America is still heart disease and we basically want to help women to get tested. You know, have heart screens and you know educate themselves about nutrition eating right, being healthy, exercising, you know everything that you can do possible in your day to day life to really pump up your heart and make it healthier. So Diet Coke opened this Pop Up event. He had Pop Up store in Los Angeles everyone that wants to come in can educate them selves and get a free heart screening. Diana Madison: What do you think the main problem is? Heidi Klum: Well did you know that it was the number one killer? Diana Madison: I didn't. Heidi Klum: See a lot of people do not know that because they think it’s you know a cancer but if you put all the cancer’s together all of them heart disease is still number one. People just think “Oh, I'm young, I'm fit you know it’s not me it’s all the other people”. You’ve point your finger on other people. Or you think its something maybe hereditary or all that happens when you know I'm older. Or you know anything, “You know I exercise and therefore that shouldn’t happened to me” but then maybe you have other issues or other things that you do with that of maybe you know not so good. So I think it’s always good to get tested, educate your self and do something about it. Diana Madison: Do you think the main thing is eating right, is it exercising or is it a combination of both? Heidi Klum: It’s definitely is a combination of everything. You know, I think being a happy person, you’d be looking at life in a happy way, too also helps I think but definitely eating right. You know people always say “How do you stay in shape?” for me because of being model, it comes with the job to have a fit and healthy body. Otherwise I couldn’t do all the things that I do, you know, having good hair, having good skin, having good nails and having a bright smile and getting up early in the morning. I tried to stay fit with you know running after my kids and going onto the trampoline with them and swim with them and play tag with them and running the treadmill every ones in a while. And eating healthy but I’ve lived this kind of life for the past you know 15 years being a model and a lot of people, I don't know I think they—a lot of people don't really looked at the input the things that they eat. And then most people are maybe not motivated to move around and I think that’s so important because the pump of your heart has to go. Diana Madison: What's an easy work out or what’s your favorite workout that you can share with people that are trying to get that first like kick start into that healthy way of life? Heidi Klum: Well I can only say, I mean I don't really do a lot of exercise types things at home apart of running on the treadmill every once in a while but it’s for me, it’s the children. So I think all moms out there will know what I'm talking about. Because having you know, especially I have four children and our oldest daughter is six and then we have a four-year-old and a three-year-old son, they want action. So if you were a mom and you’ve participate in your children’s games that is your exercise right there, you know, instead of sitting and watching participate in their game. And they will also love that too when they see they parent do silly things with them.
