Establish my Gift Wrap. Now with Gift Wrap most of the times the guy's going to hit the single chin-up defense. So, again being able to threaten with the choke at any time is always good for the guy knows I'm going to go for the choke, maybe he starts developing really good defense. He's got a good shoulder shrug, he's nice and tight. Now it's hard to get inside. You know he knows that it's coming. So, with this we call this one Cabbage Patch Assist. So what I'm looking to do is push his arm out and around. Since he's holding on to my arm I place his elbows outside of my knee. So then I'll switch my feet and come underneath my knee switching my head. So, essentially I trapped his arm. I will disengage here and still threat him with the choke. So he'll come up with a, yeah, that's what I'm looking for, so I can get hand control here, clear the neck, look for the leg and I still have the hand control here. I'll cross my feet and I want to make sure that I pinch this nice and tight while I'm hooking his leg. So, I'm squeezing with my lat leaning to the side here. Again, I have established my Gift Wrap. He's got good chin-up defense, he's nice and tight. It's starting to get hard to choke this guy from the back, so I'm going to push out around and I'm just looking for the elbow outside of my knee. Switch my feet, grab underneath my leg and I'm looking for the choke. Now anytime if he doesn't think the choke can come on, I can always go back to the choke. But I want to threaten. When I threaten, I'd like to get control with my right hand on his wrist. Then I can clear, switch my grip again. I like being able to hold his arm up so I can get underneath and stop locking that spider web position. Hook nice and tight here.
