Female Speaker: What chemicals are found in cigarettes? Gwendolyn Fancavillo: There are over 4000 chemicals found in cigarettes and about 43 are carcinogens which are cancer causing chemicals. You'll find such things in cigarettes such as ammonia which you would use to clean your toilet, arsenic which is rat poison, acetone which is a nail polish remover, formaldehyde, which you would use to embalm dead bodies, so a lot of thing you wouldn't normally think that would go in your body or you normally wouldn't put into your body that you're inhaling when you smoke a cigarette.
