Tech Review - Spotswood L-18 Wooden Drum Case Hello, again my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I'm looking at the Spotswood L-18 Wooden Drum Case. At first glance you would think that this product is just a great looking drum. In this case though looks are very deceiving, this is a computer case and it’s unlike anything else that’s currently on the market and it’s built from the ground up. They do not modify, pre-made drum but rather built it from scratch. It’s handcrafted and costumed from light weight high quality maple veneer plywood which is very durable. This material offers natural acoustic defining properties not found in steel or aluminum. It’s available in five stain colors natural, light oak, dark oak, candy apple red and golden yellow. Having such a color choices fantastic because it can be easily matched to almost any décor, also the stain that is used offers a hard and finger print resistant finish. At the front is an external drive bay for a Slimline notebook, optical drive, four USB ports, a microphone and headphone jack, as well as one firewire port. Here is the power and reset button, which are high quality stainless steel illuminated and vandal resistant. Also the reset buttons LED in the case hard drive activity. Both the left and right side panels are made from durable plastic and can be removed by unscrewing eight fasteners on each side. These fasteners are chromed or polished steel and look great. The left side panel has a large 140 millimeter fan and right panel has a motherboard tray mounted on it. At the back of the case are two 92 millimeter fans and a hole-covered rubber to let the computer cables through. Due to this cases size there are a few limitations, so please check their website for more information. This case fits a standard ATX and microATX motherboard and the motherboard tray is removable. The power supply gets installed at the bottom and there are three internal drive bays, one here and two at the top. Also there are four to seven expansion slots, but this depends on the placement of the motherboard. At the bottom of the case there's a port for the power supply, they include four soft rubber feet which have excellent anti-vibration properties and won’t scratch the surface. I've installed a power supply, hard drive, motherboard and video card to demonstrate with this case looks like with computer hardware installed. Have a look from the inside and from the outside. Also note that the rim is separate from the plastic and this means that you can rotate the fan 360 degrees and have it in the best location for your particular computer setup. Finally, have a listen to the stock cooling. If you're tried of all the Mid-Tower desktop and home theater PC cases that are currently on the market, you definitely want to check this product out, its very original looking. Again its made from the ground up handcrafted, very well designed and looks simply amazing a perfect product for a home theater PC case. Overall this is a 100% kick ass product.
