Surf Boards Old vs New Male: The equipment of those guys like boards over between seven and eight fade in single fin. They nearly forced you to flow. And to not flow was to really go against the grind. Male: You got to kind of know your history before you can know your future so you know that’s a kind of where surfing will start it and that’s where we are today. Mark Richards: All I picked was the 1978 basking and adored model. It was a board that I had great competitor success on, catch a few waves on them and had fun on them. Sofia Mulanovich: They said that Red Bull had a surprise for us and we came down and we saw all this brand new like MR Boards like looking amazing. And they’re like actually really big and really thick. And you know, I was like “Woah!” like, “How am I going to ride this?” you know? Male: Right, Chris versus Mark? Mick Fanning: Speechless. Sally Fitzgibbons: Yes, it’s such a different feeling. And I think looking back, it just so reminds me of crazy at what they have done for this board and the rides they’ve had. Jordy Smith: It’s interesting to see what the boys riding in the past and what they are riding today because definitely what I'm going to be doing is air reverses on those boards for sure. Mick Fanning: Everyone is sort of looking for the new thing. And it’s good to go back and just see where it come from and just see the different lines that people are drawing. I had a lot of fun.
