Interviewer: Almost a year after his death, Michael Jackson’s mother Catherine is speaking publicly for the first time about how her grandchildren are coping with their grief. In an interview with that Daily Mirror, the Jackson matriarch reveals how 12 year old Paris has turned her bedroom into a shrine for her father surrounding herself with his photographs. And she goes on to say that Michael’s sons, 13 year old Prince and Blanket who’s 8 speak openly at home about wanting to make their father proud while spending hours listening to his music. They live a sheltered life though, have no friends and don’t go to school as their educated privately and choose to spend free time with their cousins and other family members. All three children live with Catherine who’s their legal guardian. And their favorite pastimes include swimming and karate. Although she says Michael never told his children just what a huge superstar he was, all three show artist qualities their father would recognize, Paris with music, Prince with films and Blanket with his playful character. A year after the tragic events and after a year of sorrow, she hopes for a brighter year and has published a Coffee Table book dedicated to her late son consisting of photos on one page and her own thoughts and memories on another. But with Michael’s doctor, Conrad Murray, facing charges of involuntary man slaughter, she refuses to believe his death was due to natural causes and continues to look for answers.
