Mike: Hi! My name is Mike. I'm from Thornton, Colorado. I'm an only child and now my wife is pregnant and I'm not certain on how to parent a child. Would a parenting class be a good option for me? Dr. Paul Sagerman: Mike, first off congratulations! You're about to start on what I call the great experiment in life. Here's the bad news. Everything is uncertain. There are no certain questions. There are no certain answers. Anyone who says that, I've all the answers, doesn't have all the questions. The good news is, I've never ever had to worry about a parent who has asked the question that you just asked. You're going to have a couple good resources, parents, pediatricians, grand parents. Take their advice. You and your wife are going to make decisions. Once you do, you're going to see if they work. If they work you keep doing it, if not make another decision.
