It's possible to make your Google Maps travel map public and share it with the world at large. This way, your friends and family, your blog readers and your social network friends can follow your progress. A word to the wise though: be wary of sharing too much information online. Don't share your home address and how long you're going to be away; for example, even we might be tempted to break in during your absence... and we're nice people!

Sharing Your Google Map as Public: You can share you’re travels with friends, family and even your blog readers. First, in my maps, I'll click on my cross-country map. Now here, I'll select a location where I’d visited and took a picture. I'll click on rich text; click on the photo icon and add the URL on my photo. And now, it’s been added to my map. The same goes for videos you’ve taken. After that’s all done, you can share this with friends and family by clicking on the link. And then you can share this URL or you can copy and paste this code into your blog and share your travels with your blog readers. Here’s a preview of what they’ll see, so here’s an embedable map that I created of my road trip. And readers can click on the different icons to see notes I added, photos I've added anything I did along my trip that I want to share. And you can customise this to be a small medium or large sized map. When you’re ready to share it, just copy and paste this code onto your website.
