Nate: Hi! I'm Nate from Long Beach, when is it safe for my wife to resume sexual activity after a natural birth with minimal stitches? Laurie Zephyrin: Thanks for your question Nate, typically we recommend after a batch of delivery that a women should have six weeks of pelvic rest, that means nothing in the vagina including no sexual intercourse, or using things such as tampons. Usually at that six week visit the women would visit her doctor, and she would have an exam and if everything is normal at that exam then she'd be all clear to go.
