In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Clay demonstrates a new baby stroller from Chicco. The Cortina Together Stroller is a double stroller that is perfect for parents of multiples. The stroller configures in a number of different ways and can accommodate different combinations of infants and toddlers. It also accepts the Chicco KeyFit and KeyFit 30 infant car seats so dads and moms can also use this a travel system.
Sure there are tons of cool, high-tech strollers on the market, but how do they handle the practical reality of two small children or multiples. Today in the lab we take a look at a great choice. Ever since our friends at Keiko send us this Cortina together stroller system, it’s been in heavy use. It’s rarely been on the studio because Daddy Brad has been using it with his family constantly and that’s because of this, its unique capacity and its ability to configure in a number of different ways. Either to hold two toddlers, a toddler and an infant, or even two infants, let’s take a look at the specific features of this cool stroller. So, you can have the toddler in the backseat here and very easily configure this front-seat to accommodate the rear facing infant car seat like Chicco KeyFit 30. All you have to do is pop-off of the front bar, lean the front-seat forward and then it can accommodate the car seat very easily, it snaps right in, it’s nice and secure. One of the things you’re going to notice is that once your on your way, this is a pretty maneuverable stroller despite being a double and a pretty big vehicle overall. Once you got everybody load up in here, you’re going to notice one really wonderful thing because the infant is rear facing, they get a chance to observe and interact with you, but also a big brother, big sister, and any parent knows that little babies love looking at the bigger kid’s faces. Some other key features to note, the five point harness system is easy to adjust and to operate. I love that there’s an adjustable hike handle that makes it dad friendly, so you can set for both mom and for dad and the color choices are definitely dad friendly. The folding mechanism here is pretty easy to operate and for a large stroller, it folds up small enough to fit in to the average sized sedan. You don’t have to have an SUV or mini van to take it together along. One of the reasons we really like this Cortina Together stroller here at Dad Labs is that it also accommodates the number one safety rated Chicco KeyFit and KeyFit 30 car seats. You can see these guys just snap right in. Now the reason we like this design is that there’s no sacrifice in safety and it’s a little bit of a slimmer outline. If you’ve got a little bit of tight space in the backseat, this is the perfect car seat for you. Available the dual stroller for about $300.00, KeyFit 30 car seat about $179.00 at a big box retailer. Bottom line, this is an awesome rig for growing families or parents of multiples, it gets the Dad Labs seal of approval. That’s all for us today here in the lab.
