At what time of day are children most vulnerable?

Transcript

Host: At what time of day are children most vulnerable? Nancy McBride: Children are more vulnerable to attempted abductions when going to and from school, or school related activities, and we found that the hours between 2:00 and 6:59 P.M. were the most critical. And if you really think about this, again it makes sense, because we know that perpetrators look for access and opportunity. What better time, what better place than when kids are going to and from school? Some kids ride alone on their bikes, some kids walk alone. They maybe taking shortcuts to get to schools, and we really need to take the time to talk to our kids about going to and from schools, doing it safely and making sure they let somebody know if anybody approaches them when they are going to and from school.
