Christina: My name is Christina and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. My child is nervous about his first day of school, what can I do to prepare him? Mark Riddle: Well Christina, you have asked a very important question. As you probably know, most youngsters are anxious and concerned on their first day of school. I would suggest that you let your son know that most of the other kids at school are going to be as worried or even more worried than he is. And that teacher is there to help everybody get comfortable and that most kids feel quite good about school after just a few days. So I would be reassuring, comforting, and positive.
