A Philadelphia doctor is sentenced to serve three life terms for murdering babies during late-term abortions and other crimes at his clinic. In a deal that spared him from the death penalty, 72-year old Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72 -- was convicted Monday in a case that included testimony of a clinic worker who testified that the doctor had delivered live babies during botched late-term abortions and cut their spinal cords. The jurors spoke publicly for the first time on Wednesday (SOUNDBITE) (English) JURY MEMBER SARAH GLINSKI SAYING: "He is an abortion doctor who tried to help people who may not have had the money to get the services they needed. I think somewhere something went wrong in his mind perhaps that made him do these things to these children that were born alive." (SOUNDBITE) (English) JURY FOREMAN DAVID MISKO SAYING: "It was definitely hard to see the photos and hear the testimony match up to it, as there was cases where the photos of the babies were blown up and they were right in front of your face and you had to stare, and I mean it was definitely hard seeing that." Gosnell was also found guilty of performing 21 abortions after 24 weeks into pregnancy at his clinic. It is legal in Pennsylvania to abort a fetus up to 24 weeks.
