The shells of burned out cars and buildings line Kano, Nigeria's streets after violent attacks by an Islamist sect. The sect, Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for the Friday gun and bomb attacks that targeted police stations and killed nearly 180 people. The group said it was avenging the arrests and police killings of its members. Nigeria's military is patrolling the streets of the northern city and a curfew is in place in an attempt to restore order.
