Forget about who can sing and who can’t sing. I think that the spirit of it is a lot more important than the sound that you produce and that we do try our best. There are some practical considerations. You do have to wear something that’s comfortable enough to get around and you do have to make sure that if it’s in a cold climate, you be warm enough. It’s important to have extra sheet music in case you pick up another couple of singers. You also need to have light. Flashlights are a good idea. Candles are even more fun. If everybody can carry a candle, that really does look good. Generally what we do is have a kind of a pre Christmas party where we don’t exactly practice but we do get together and sing.
