EmpowHer Is magnetic resonance (MR) guided focused ultrasound an inpatient or outpatient procedure? Dr. Suzanne D. LeBlang, M.D. The MR guided focused ultrasound procedure is an outpatient procedure that patient’s come about a half an hour before their procedure to prepped. The procedure takes anywhere between two to four hours and then their usually discharged within an hour after the procedure.
