Mike Posner on AMA's, Miley Cyrus & Music Diana Madison: Hi, everybody I'm Diana Madison internet maven and I'm getting you guys a low down on what new stars are being discovered on the World Wide Web. There’s a lot that I could talk about you right now, there is rumors that you and Miley Cyrus are like more than just friends with benefits? Mike Posner: Miley Cyrus and I are just friends. Sorry to disappoint you. Diana Madison: So is that weird for you that you're just like -- why are you associating me with this kind of -- Mike Posner: It is pretty new for me. I think they're doing it because she’s really famous and stuff. Diana Madison: She's cute too. Mike Posner: She’s -- yeah, she is a cute girl. Diana Madison: Is that exciting for you to be here? Mike Posner: It is incredible to be here you know you're going, I was a college student at Duke so it’s beyond the red carpet and nominated, it’s totally, totally surreal. Diana Madison: Tell me how -- what was that process like that you're here right now? How did you get over you know that bridge. Mike Posner: Well two years ago I made a CD in my dorm room and one of the songs on it was my first single Cooler Than Me and I put it on the internet for free download and it just kind of snowballed into where I'm at now. Diana Madison: How could you say -- knowing that all these other artists who have making music on the internet, they become the next big thing? Mike Posner: It is really amazing you know it's an exciting time in music where things are more democratized than ever. So, people can choose what they like and you can watch an artist like Justin Bieber for example go from YouTube to here.
