[Trailer Little People Big World] But what is it like living in that Roloff shoes both on and off camera. Matt her in our studios good to see you here in New York Matt. Matt Roloff: Well thank you, thanks for having me. Audra Lowe: Yeah I love the show. Huge fan of the show itself and I got to ask you off the top why did the show end, was that your decision, the producer’s decision? Matt Roloff: Well we’ve been for a couple of years whining to cut of wind things down but TLC came along and we sort of extended our contract and extended it every year and then decided at the end they said you know we can kind of tie up all these loose ends if you can give us 20 more episodes but we wanted to wind it down and get back to a sense of normal. We have done 230 episodes we’re sort of exhausted and in front process its lot. Audra Lowe: That is a lot. Now how did they approach you to do the show? Matt Roloff: They really approached us, yeah and some producers approached us and then they approached TLC and wanted us to share our story and we thought it would be a good thing you know educate people about little people. Audra Lowe: That’s what I was going to ask you too was that your main goal with the show itself started out to be right? Matt Roloff: We’re our main goal started out to be and after a couple of dozen episodes. We’ve said okay we think we’ve accomplished that goal. Audra Lowe: Yeah. Matt Roloff: And it came more about you know our charities and that thing our platform and continuing to educate a wider and wider audience. Audra Lowe: See on your show obviously education was the main thing that I got from the show because I saw, every thing that you do. I mean you live a very busy life for anybody out there. I mean your businesses and the kids itself do you feel like you reached the goal of educating people about the things that you and your family have to go through? Matt Roloff: We do. We think we’ve reached the goal maybe even got a little too far what they would probably sort of kept going and maybe we should have stopped but we sort of survived the process you know that reality television is not for feint at heart it really can be quite stressful and there’s a lot to it that people don’t realize. Audra Lowe: And stressful on your marriage too because there were rumors out there that you and your wife were getting a divorce obviously? Matt Roloff: Not true. Audra Lowe: Not true and you guys actually look back at some of the episodes and said that you did have a few regrets when you saw. Matt Roloff: It’s hard because when you got cameras in your house you don’t have the time to have those connecting time. You know that time to connect because you’re sort of on. You got a camera you know trying to dissect everything you say and when you have a fight for example. It’s really hard to get the real fight. They got you now you have to have it again when you screen the episode at that point you know you usually say why did you say that about me later on you know to the interview and of course when people talk about it on the internet and then when it airs so you have to have every argument 5 or 6 times to replay it you know that takes a stress on your relationship. Audra Lowe: Five or six times that would never ever work in our house. The first or second time that’s it. Matt Roloff: Well I don’t know. Audra Lowe: Well I hate to keep --on the negative but I remember TMZ reported awhile ago that you had passed away. Obviously not true but I can’t even imagine what that would be like to hear a rumor like that yourself when you’re sitting there looking at it on the internet. Matt Roloff: It was shocking because when I saw the episode I did see myself passed out but it never occurred to me that people would presume that I was dead but you know once you put the mute, we see these episode and you don’t really have all the final music and everything but when they sort of put pieces together I had achy shoulders that looked like I was grabbing my shoulders and then I passed out from a dizzy spell put that all that together with the music and it looked like so I was pretty surprised. Audra Lowe: Shame on you guys, shame on you guys. He’s here, he’s doing very, very well. I know you have 4 kids a set of twins and then and some of them are average height. Matt Roloff: One of them is average and one of them is tall and we have Molly who’s 17 who’s average height and I have Jacob who is my youngest, he’s 13 and he’s also average height. Audra Lowe: Interesting. Now what’s the dynamic of that? What did you think when you realized that one of your children would be of average height the other not. I mean is there a difference in how you raised them? Matt Roloff: But we had a 50% chance of having small child and an average child so when we had the twins we had one of these we thought well that’s exactly what the geneticist you know said would happen. Audra Lowe: Okay. Matt Roloff: So we’re not very surprised but. Audra Lowe: You guys do a fantastic job on the show explaining everything and showing people just how hard you work to so I’m glad you’re here in the studio. Matt Roloff: Well thank you. Audra Lowe: Thank you so much.
