Tyler Weaver won his local library’s ‘top reader’ award five years in a row. But last month, library director Marie Gandron said the 9-year-old was “hogging” the award and called for him to “step aside.” Library aide Lita Casey stood up for Tyler, telling the director she thought that was unfair. Casey told The Post-Star she was fired Monday night. Though, the library board refused to specify why. WNYT reports Gandron, who’d been at the library for 41 years, also recently left.
