Nina Sebastiane: Welcome back to Baby Talk. Now joining me in the studio is Julie White. She is the founder of a company called Truly Madly Baby which sells all manner of baby and toddler products and she is here to show us a few of these latest toys and gadgets that are available for you and your baby. Welcome to the show. Julie White: Hello! Nina Sebastiane: Okay, how are you doing? Julie White: Very well. Nina Sebastiane: Now you have brought a load of stuff, I love you coming in. It is almost like having my own private sort of party really. Julie White: Yes absolutely. Nina Sebastiane: Because we should tell people that that's what you do. Truly Madly Baby is essentially a -- almost I think I call it like a Tupperware party really. Julie White: Yes, yes it is the Tupperware party of the baby road, but we sell obviously baby products. But party is in your own home. Nina Sebastiane: Yes and you show us all sorts of stuff, don't you. I mean it is the latest stuff and the stuff that you love isn't it? Julie White: Yes absolutely. Nina Sebastiane: What's the first you are going to show us today? Julie White: Well, let's start with this latest suit shall we? Nina Sebastiane: I love this. Julie White: Well I have gone to the stage with my little boy where he wants to feed himself and the time comes doesn't it -- Nina Sebastiane: Never mind that you have a little suit, you have a grown up version to cover yourself because if you ever had that, the spoon in the puree -- Julie White: Absolutely, but this is great because it is really nice and soft. It has got a little belt fastening, so it is dead easy to put on, on the cuffs as well as the little feet here. But, it covers the baby from head to toe and comes in its own little bag -- Nina Sebastiane: I thought this is going to be a hat. Julie White: No. Nina Sebastiane: In case you want to -- Julie White: Well, potentially. But when you are traveling of course you have had a nice meal that has got very messy, you can just wrap it all up and get into the bag. Nina Sebastiane: I am hoping you are going to tell me it is all totally machine washable and dead easy and it comes out perfect. Julie White: Yeah, it is waterproof as well. So it is going to really protect everything and actually we had a lady buy one the other day for her child to actually help daddy wash the car. Nina Sebastiane: Oh great. Well you can do crafts as well, can't you? You can -- Julie White: But we do with mom. We do a bigger version called the AR Suit which is when the baby gets even bigger, goes a bigger size and it is exactly the same product. Nina Sebastiane: Lovely, very nice, how much? Julie White: 799, Nina Sebastiane: 799, it is not too bad. Julie White: Yeah, comes in four colors. Nina Sebastiane: Excellent, okay. Julie White: That's a good one. Nina Sebastiane: Alright, next look at the next one. Julie White: Okay, I brought this along because I think this is a really nice product and this is actually called the grobag egg and it is made by the people who make grobags so that's reassuring to me as a mom. But it is a nursery thermometer and so when it is actually dark -- Nina Sebastiane: You can't see this right now because obviously we have got studio lights going on. Julie White: Sure, sure, but when it is actually dark this glows like a really soft night light. But the most important thing to mom is it shows the color as the room is. So if it is blue, it means the room is quite cold -- Nina Sebastiane: Too cold for baby. Julie White: Bit too cold for baby. If it is red, it is too hot and if it is yellow, it is absolutely spot-on. Nina Sebastiane: Okay, we have a look at this earlier. So you will see this now on your screen. This is what it looks like when it is working in the darkened room as I said not in the studio. So as I said, it glows beautifully and it just keeps you -- the right color to have it is I think is the yellow, doesn't it? Julie White: Yellow yes. Yellow is spot-on, yellow is actually then 16 to 20 degrees. Nina Sebastiane: Which is what you want. Julie White: Which is what we want. Nina Sebastiane: But you can also see the on the thermistor on the front, can't you? Julie White: Yes, it tells you the actual temperature on the front way as well. But the other thing is it is like a night light because it is so lovely and soft, so it is really nice in the nursery as well for the baby. Nina Sebastiane: How much? Julie White: This is actually 1995. Nina Sebastiane: Okay not too bad. Julie White: A really nice gift I think as well if you want to buy new mom something. Nina Sebastiane: Practical yet elegant. Julie White: Absolutely. Nina Sebastiane: It is quite attractive and it looks a little bit like sort of iPody design, doesn't it? Really kind of funky. Julie White: Yes. Nina Sebastiane: Alright let's have a look at this one, this is a baby grow suit, this is lovely. Julie White: These are called sock suits and a genius idea because what they have done is they have actually designed to put socks on the bottom and that means that obviously this stretch then as the baby's feet grow. Nina Sebastiane: You see I am cheap, I wish to cut the ends off for a little bit more wear out. Julie White: And I hear a lot of moms say that to me. But they have also got the tights on the bottom so they are non-slip. Nina Sebastiane: Non-slip. Julie White: Which is great for you toddlers, but these last you so much longer. Nina Sebastiane: But this is very big and this is -- what age did you say this was? Julie White: This is 18-24, but they are quite generous and again I found with my little boy that I was always buying new baby grows to have even warm because his feet were growing and that was where they went first. Nina Sebastiane: How much? Julie White: 1495 for a pack of two. Nina Sebastiane: Well that's good, I like, I think they are nice and big. Julie White: And really good quality as well, the materials. Nina Sebastiane: Alright, Julie next one. Julie White: Staple Cutlery. Nina Sebastiane: Oh, this one. Julie White: Yes. Nina Sebastiane: Okay. Julie White: Again really great product for when you start to teach your baby to feed themselves. Nina Sebastiane: I am going to have a go at this one. So it suctions to any table. Julie White: It suctions to any table and you need to give a good firm sort of stick to it. Nina Sebastiane: Oh no, that's good. Julie White: It is a little bit like the tax disc on your car you how you seal that in. it is the same kind of principle. Nina Sebastiane: Oh, I like that. Julie White: Just make sure little tip make sure that this little here which you use to actually flip it back off when you wash it, make sure that's faced away from baby. Nina Sebastiane: Because otherwise -- Julie White: As they will get clever, but these as well will stick on so that they can't throw this. Nina Sebastiane: I like this, I like this. They look great. Julie White: These are good for when you are training your baby to feed themselves, they are really, really excellent. Nina Sebastiane: Do you know, I like about this one is that it is sort of ergonomic ring shape, isn't it? You can see that they can tuck in there and really just sort of get attached. So how much is this little set? Julie White: 895 if you buy the bowl and the spoon and fork. But you can just buy a spoon and fork for 695. Nina Sebastiane: That makes sense to have the whole. Julie White: So it makes sense I think to have the whole lot really. And these comes off from here -- Nina Sebastiane: So it is all washable. Julie White: So you can actually wash it all nicely. Nina Sebastiane: And is it dishwasher proof? Julie White: Well I put mine through the dishwasher but best thing to do is make sure you take the sucker off. Yeah, that is important there. Nina Sebastiane: Lovely, okay next up. Julie White: Well I thought these were lovely. It is a must have I think for those trendy moms that is when babies have their bath, they have a pair of bath slippers. Nina Sebastiane: This is just a little sort of cute sort of item, isn't it really? Julie White: Yeah, they are really. Nina Sebastiane: How often are you going to use and who knows? I tell you what, not the bath, on the beach. Julie White: Well, yes. Nina Sebastiane: Maybe or when you are going on a holiday. Julie White: Exactly. Nina Sebastiane: Can you see that, just by the pool. Are they quite non-slip? Julie White: Yes, they are and we have two sizes non to 6 and 6 to 12. Nina Sebastiane: I like those. Julie White: So they don't make them any bigger unfortunately but we are campaigning for bigger one because we think they are so fat. You have a little velcro fastening here and this is elasticated. These sit lovely around the back of the heel and actually stay on quite well as well. Nina Sebastiane: Okay how much for these? Julie White: They are actually 5 pound 50 and they come in four designs and different colors as well. Nina Sebastiane: I have to book one of those. Okay, next up? Julie White: Well we have got a preview and these have just come out which is the brand new taggie and it is called the Love Note Taggie. Nina Sebastiane: Now for people how haven't seen these before, give us a sort of run through about taggies. Julie White: Well taggies, it was discovered -- well I think many moms have discovered that babies love lapels. So it is a couple of ladies in America started to work on designing a really stimulating lapels, different colors, different textures and they got some really beautiful colored fabrics and blankets and patterns and just designed a square of material with lapels all around with then they called a taggie -- Nina Sebastiane: And it is almost like a blanket. Julie White: It is like a comfort blanket. Nina Sebastiane: It is funny because it is one of these very tactile things sitting there I just think a little touchy feel to this. Julie White: But these brand new ones are really beautiful soft material, I mean they are softest thing that you have ever found and also they now have like a little motif on them all and different kinds. Nina Sebastiane: And this would be kind of a nice little present for someone, wouldn't it? Julie White: A lovely present definitely, would be something that would go through your baby's with them really to a point where that sort of gets attached to it. Nina Sebastiane: So does Truly Madly Baby do mail order as well? Julie White: Yes. Nina Sebastiane: So for example, if I have got a girlfriend who has just had a baby you can sort of go in on the net and just book something over the net and have something delivered? Julie White: Definitely we have got online shop. Nina Sebastiane: Do you do gift wrap? Julie White: Yes we do, yes and we will put a special message in for you as well. So we do all of that. Nina Sebastiane: That's fine. Julie White: And it may come again in different colors with different motifs on. Nina Sebastiane: Lovely. Julie White: I really, really like this product. This is actually, it is called a warm dudu but a dudu is like a computer and actually it is a lovely little mouse as you can see with its tail and then inside you have actually got a wheat bag. Nina Sebastiane: It is one of these microwave jobs, isn't it? Julie White: So you can put it in the microwave or you can put it in the freezer either way and it will last up to an hour staying cold or hot. Nina Sebastiane: Great. Julie White: But what is lovely -- Nina Sebastiane: I use these on -- Yeah, I used these when I was pregnant actually on my back if I was a bit sour and something not with the mouse, but -- Julie White: But it is just the comfort that then with the added heat or cold just to soothe perhaps best time is like when they are teething. Nina Sebastiane: Fantastic. Julie White: Really, really beautiful. Nina Sebastiane: How much for this one? Julie White: This is 2499, but it does come in its own gift box as well. Nina Sebastiane: So that's a gift, that's a Poshprezzy isn't it really? Julie White: Poshprezzy, nice treat if you want to treat yourself or lovely gift. Nina Sebastiane: Well, listen we have got time for one more sort of 25 second quick. Julie White: Okay, well I do need to just show you these T-shirts then because we have just taken these onboard and I know you can get T-shirts of varying sort of degrees but we thought these were absolutely fabulous, because they are all the nursery rhymes. Nina Sebastiane: Lovely! This little piggy and then you've got went to market on the back. Julie White: That's said, yeah. Incy wincy spider climbing up the spout. Nina Sebastiane: Great. Julie White: So you have got seven designs. So you can have one for every day of the week, but they have really beautiful quality. Nina Sebastiane: And bottom-line, how much? Julie White: 10 pound 50. Nina Sebastiane: Okay and you can get all of these of course on Truly Madly Baby, the website being -- Julie White: www.trulymadlybaby.co.uk Nina Sebastiane: And this and many, many other products of kiddy and parent friendliness all there too. Julie White: We have got the new catalogue coming in middle of May. Nina Sebastiane: Great, lovely. Well, thank for you that, thank you very much for coming in. Julie White: That's a pleasure. Nina Sebastiane: Thanks to both my guest today and we will see you next time on Baby Talk.
