Female Speaker: Shaka the Zulu's Napoleon had just before this time rode them into a single warrior nation. I travel through the ancestors Zulu homelands called Kwazulu, large sections of fertile terrain in Western South Africa. Here most Zulu's follow customs which they practice long before the white mans arrival. For instance, to announce his engagement to one woman, a man ties a white flag on a pole, if he wants more then one wife a red flag, he may buy as many wives as he desires provided he can pay for his lobolo or bride price. People often stared at me; most would probably never seen a camcorder. Along the road, baskets of superb quality where for sale, while viewing them the Zulu women appeared animated and talkative until I began asking them questions.
