Rhiannon Ally: A popular group of CDs called Kidz Bop has taken youth entertainment to a whole new level. These are pop songs sung by the kids themselves. Anne checks out the latest CD and gets a sneak peak at the band’s first original artist. Anne Ebeling: Meet Kidz Bop’s newest star. Before now, the popular Kidz Bop albums featured solely covers of hit songs sung by a group of talented kids but unlike Kidz Bop kids before her, 12-year old Sinai Rose is singing her own song all by herself. Singing comes naturally to Sinai. She’s been doing it since age one. Sinai Rose: When I was younger, my father is a musician, so he had a home studio in the basement and he’s a reggae artist. Being around music so much really influenced me to when I do something bigger than what I thought I could have done and just be in the music business because I think it’s really great if I could be the next Beyonce or Rihanna. Anne Ebeling: She’s the first original artist signed to the Kidz Bop label. Her first single LOL was released on Kidz Bop 16 and became an online hit with more than a half a million audio streams on KidzBop.com and on YouTube. Sinai Rose: I felt really great when they told me how good I was doing because as much work as I put in to what I really want to be and how successful I want to be. I think that’s really good that the progress is awesome. Anne Ebeling: Today, Sinai is in the studio laying down vocal tracks for a cover of Jackson 5’s Santa Claus is Coming to Town that will be on this year’s Kidz Bop Christmas album, so let’s check out how she’s doing. Sinai Roses: I think I’m really passionate about what I’m doing. It’s because I just really love it and to be able to do something, you have to really put your all into it and really love doing what you do. Anne Ebeling: After Kidz Bop Christmas, Sinai will be featured on Kidz Bop 17 leading up to the release of her first full length album in 2010. Sinai Rose: What I love about performing is getting the chance for my own material and just have any screaming fans and I think it will be really cool just to get the chance to be in a big stadium and I want to perform with Green Day. That will be so cool. So Green Day, if you’re out there, you know? Anne Ebeling: And believe it or not, between writing, recording and studying for four to six hours a day, Sinai still finds time to let loose. Sinai Rose: Yeah. I always have time to be a kid. I’m like a kid everyday. I’m like 12. So, I had time to hang out with my friends, go to the movies, go to the mall, chill out, walk my dogs and just everyday thing. Anne Ebeling: At just 12 years old, she’s got her whole career ahead of her and tonight, Rose plans to make the most of it. Sinai Rose: I want to be successful and I hope that I can stay out long enough to make some more albums. I don’t want to be like an artist whose out for a couple of years and then everyone forgets about later on. I would be like Michael Jackson. He’s like alive forever but I think that would be really great just to be successful and be happy and have an easy going career. Anne Ebeling: Kidz Bop 16 is out now and if you want to check out the behind the scenes of the Kidz Bop world tour; check out Parents TV at Parents.com. We’ll be right back.
