Ella Marciano: Once I heard about Sojourn, I just wanted to like get involved. I wanted to do something that could benefit these women, benefit the shelters and just really makes a difference. So, I thought just like why not make a shirt? Kymberly Mariciano-Strauss: Ella came up with all these words on her own which really emphasize, really powerful strong words for all these women and the clients of Sojourn and she does an incredible job and she incorporated the color purple which represents domestic violence which is why were here. Ella Marciano: I just think it’s a cause that people don’t really pay attention to and they just kind of like let it be and they don’t really know what they can do. So, I wanted to show people that they can do something and to just raise awareness for them. Andy Garcia: The more people who support it the bigger it grows and the more the facilities grow, so it’s an important thing. Jessica Lowndes: Having a 16-year old contribute just shows that anyone can really make a difference from any age and I think it’s incredible and 100% of the proceeds go to helping battered women and their children and I think that’s fantastic. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so I’m really happy to be here and it’s such a great cause. Holly Robinson Peete: I love seeing young girls involved in philanthropy. I teach that to my daughter and so, I’m just happy to be here to support. The cause of domestic violence as we’ve seen in the media and just seen in some of us in our personal lives is a really intense one. I love that we’re embracing younger women and younger men because the earlier you talk about this the less likely it is to happen in your life. Allison Sweeney: Anything that raises awareness to help people understand how important it is to fight domestic violence is a huge step at the right direction. I think it brings awareness to people so that they know that it’s not okay. I think they also give women who are out there feeling that way and knowing that they’re up against it that they have a home and that they have somewhere to turn to.
