Sachs encourages students to go abroad and see life as it is lived for the poor up close.
If you are fortunate to have the opportunity—for instance you’re students in college you have third year abroad or you have a summer internship program or you just graduated take the chance, go to a poor country, go to a village, learn about life as its live by billion of people on the planets. See the challenges, see the solutions, and do not let the pundit who knows so little filter this reality for you. Go on and experience that it will change your life. You will understand things more clearly. You will remain committed for life to helping to improve the situation in the world especially for the poorest of the poor. You will understand the nature finding real solutions and the no doubt total you will make a major change in the years ahead.
