Northern Japan was battered by typhoon-force winds on Wednesday, while the rest of country is recovering from a storm that has left at least four people dead and hundreds injured. In Miyagi prefecture, a 28-year-old nurse was killed by a falling tree. National broadcaster NHK reported 150 kilomtre-per-hour wind gusts in parts of Miyagi as the storm moved north. The gusts were on par with a category one typhoon.
