Natalie: Hi, my name is Natalie and I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My question is stress hereditary? Bruce Rabin: Natalie, stress is not hereditary. Stress is something which we learn in our young life. When we are young, when we have difficulties dealing with situations and our parents criticize us and our parents don't help us remain calm. Then our brain becomes more reactive to things, which are disturbing to it. But it is learnt, it is not at all hereditary.
