Candace: Hi! My name is Candace, I'm from Brighton, Colorado. My daughter would like to dress like Britney Spears and Paris but she is only ten, how do I make her understand that she is too young for this? Shari Barkin: I usually go to the root of the issue, so why is it that so many young girls are interested in dressing just like Britney and Paris and your daughter is not alone; many ten-year-olds would like to do that. So I would recommend sitting down and saying what is it about that look that you like so much? And most kids will tell you, they want to look cool, they want to look beautiful and then you can talk about what it is to look beautiful, and other things, other ways that they can look beautiful that's more appropriate for their age.
