How to Work Out While Watching TV FLN Get back Into Shape Gym Time Nutrition Get Fit All That’s Fit Couch Potato Workout Female: There are countless nights when I come home from a long day of work all I want to do is turn on the TV and just sit in a bench. My buddy Bryan here, he knows exactly what I’m talking about don’t you. Bryan: I do. Scissor Kicks Keep your back straight. Stop if your neck begins to hurt. Female: What I was thinking is the first thing you do is instead of sinking back on the couch and letting your core go and your belly hang out and be a giant couch potato that you slip on the edge of the couch, grab the edge. Now if you got a coffee table like this it’s perfect because you’re just going to bring your legs right on top of it, okay and then scissor your legs. Good now straighten your knees and look out for those chips; you’re going to send them flying. Now pull your abdominal muscles and pull in without doing that you can’t do this movement. Now try not to bend your knees when you come up. Okay so this exercise if you can do this through an entire commercial break then you can eat a chip or two. No more than two, two. Bryan: Two. Handfuls Female: Not like the whole bag like yesterday. Alright, okay you feel that. I feel it 2 handfuls. No, okay. So this works your entire core and your legs, got it. Bryan: I got it. Female: Are you tired? Bryan: Yeah. Female: You want a break? Bryan: I do. Female: You’re not going to get one. Back pain? Try this exercise on the floor. Slowly lower your upper body so your chest touches the couch. Coach Push-ups Female: Come on couch pushups. Okay, so come behind the coach or on the side of the couch. You want to put your legs out straight behind you. Make sure your but is not sticking up and… Bryan: It’s great I can still see the TV. Female: perfect so you won’t miss any of your show while you’re going down touch your chest and up, inhale, exhale. Okay so why do this because if this is the only exercise you do you can go down an entire clothing size if all you do is exercise when you watch TV so it really has a huge payoff. I would say do as many of those as you can and then come back to your favorite spot on the couch. Bryan: Grab the chips. Female: Not yet, you don’t get the chips yet. It’s all about the chips for you isn’t it. Couch Crunches Lean back slightly and use your abdominal strength to lift your legs. Female: Okay, couch crunches back to that first position where we had our legs over the table and get really pull in and just bring your knees in. This is the frog kicks, the couch kicks whatever you call him it really works your abs. Do this for one commercial break and then guess what? Bryan: What? Female: You get to reach for the chips. Bryan: Awesome. Female: And we take them away and we give you away and you can do your arms. It’s not very much fun being my friend, is it. Biceps Curls Okay put your arm inside and do your bicep curls so not so bad you get to watch your favorite TV shows you got to get a little workout in what do you say about 25 more. Bryan: Not bad do I get a chip. Female: Maybe let’s see how you do. What’s your favorite TV show by the way? Male: Oh that’s Fit of course. Tip: Keep hand weights under your coach for easy access.
