How to Wear Sexy Menswear Sydne Summer: One of the biggest trends for women this season is men’s wear. And celebrities like Naomi Watts, Jennifer Connelly and Tyra Banks have all been inspired by the classic tuxedo. Hi, I’m My Style fashion editor, Sydne Summer and this is My Style 3-Way. I'm here at Decade’s on Melrose in Los Angeles where Cameron Silver had just debut his first clothing collection, Decade’s Denim. Now the whole line is full of versatile staples but today, it’s all about the tuxedo tunic. A tux-inspired tunic let you do the men’s wear trend while still remaining incredibly feminine. So let’s go see how you can rock it for three totally different occasions. Tunics are usually on the shorter side. So for work, we’re using as a top by pairing it with tailor separates. So on Holly, we’ve top the tunic into a flouncy skirt. Now it’s important to choose a bottom of plenty of volume. That way, the longer shirt doesn’t show through underneath. A black blazer would have been fine, but we want to have a little fun. So we went with the contrasting color plaid. Now as you can see, the jacket is fitted to Holly’s body. Anything oversized would add pounds to her frame which obviously no women wants. We send shoot off with an opaque pair of tights and a booty, which is a modern alternative to the classic pump. Now let’s go dress it down for the weekend. A button-down tunic is a great layering piece where in open, you can use it as a lightweight jacket over sweater and jeans. So with Petunia in a mustard sweater, which is a huge color of the season. We open the tunic to go on top. We added lots of gold layered chain and cut it skinny on bottom with a denim legging. Now you may have heard that fashion roll, black and brown don’t mix, well, throw that one out because neutrals worked incredibly well together. To prove our point, we finish all for look with some brown, lace up boots. Now let’s go take the tunic to a cocktail party. With the tuxedo inspiration, the tunic screams to be dressed up for holiday soiree and accessories do just the trick. Now since it’s a little on the sheer side, we first put in low in dark pair of tights. Because there’s nothing more embarrassing from the camera flashes going on and you're revealing on what should be only seen in the bedroom. Now, it’s time to accessorize. So on bottom, we went with the trendy leopard print pump to add some fierce height. In the middle, we’ve seen a lost weight with a gold chain belt and on top with your attention to her beautiful face, put some gold dangling earring. And a finishing touch to your holiday party look, impressive red lip. The tuxedo-inspired tunic is the versatile take on the men’s wear trends that can work for all different occasions. For the office, use it as the top with tailored separates. For the weekend, pair it with jeans and sweater and for holiday party, glam it up with gold and animal prints, and you just turn one look into three.
