Erin Manning: Hi there you're watching Parents TV. I'm professional photographer Erin Manning and I'm here today to show you how to take beautiful pictures in the comfort of your own home using the Home Studio Lighting Kit. I'm joined today by Rebecca Levey. Rebecca Levey: Hi, Erin. Erin Manning: Hey Rebecca, and we'll be taking pictures of Rebecca's daughter, seven year old twins, Isabel and Sophia. So Rebecca let me ask you are there good days and bad days to take photographs? Rebecca Levey: Definitely especially with two. Erin Manning: I like that, like that could be challenging. Rebecca Levey: Yeah. Erin Manning: What we are going to do is work with the Home Studio Lighting Kit. Have you ever used a kit like this before? Rebecca Levey: Never. Erin Manning: It's pretty easy, once we do it and we'll start taking photographs. Rebecca Levey: it sounds good. Erin Manning: And this is collapsible. Okay, and inside the soft box we have our continue source light socket. This is a fluorescent lamp it gives really beautiful clean white lights and they are cool to the touch. It really get in there even. Rebecca Levey: So that's interesting, I always thought fluorescent light gave a sort of, like yellowy, green -- Erin Manning: You know they use to, right, fluorescent lights in office -- Rebecca Levey: These are in the pizza parlor. Erin Manning: Right, these are day light balance which means is that beautiful clean light just like the window light over there. Rebecca Levey: Okay, great. Erin Manning: So, it mix really well with that and what's great about these lights is they draw very little energy, so you don't to worry about zapping up the electricity in your home. Rebecca Levey: Right. Isabel and Sophia: Hi. Erin Manning: We're going to take some pictures of you in front of your doll house, okay? And what we're going to do Rebecca is going to setup the lights here, lighting them evenly from both sides. We have both soft boxes, pretty much aligned evenly and kind of pointing at them in an angle. So this way we can evenly light them. It's also nice to always give kids something to do, because that get their attention and to what they are playing with. Rebecca Levey: Right. Erin Manning: And you can capture some natural expressions. Rebecca Levey: Okay. Erin Manning: In every once a while we can ask them to turn around get a shot. They can go back to what they are doing. Rebecca Levey: Sophia can you turn around? Erin Manning: Nice, maybe move that way just a little bit, okay. Rebecca Levey: Isabel, could you turn around please. Erin Manning: oh! Beautiful, pretty. Rebecca Levey: Okay. Erin Manning: Once right coming over and getting some different shots from different angles. Rebecca Levey: Okay. Erin Manning: Like right now I'm lighting at the Isabel's face. Let's take some closeup shots and really get in and look at their eyes and we'll be able to light them pretty closely with these soft boxes. Hold it -- hold the doll real close to your face. You can zoom in like really close on her face. Rebecca Levey: This is great. Erin Manning: You know that's really great Rebecca when you get down on a child's level, it creates a much more impact for photograph. That's excellent and good thing to think about whenever you are taking photographs taken from all different angles, but especially when children are playing. Rebecca Levey: Cute. Look at me. Erin Manning: Now let's try with the light off, so we can see the difference. Rebecca Levey: Great. Erin Manning: Okay. Rebecca Levey: Okay, I'm ready. Without Lights. With Home Studio Lighting Kit. Erin manning: We captured some great shots. Rebecca, thank you so much. Rebecca Levey: Thank you Erin. Erin manning: For letting us come in to show you how to use our Home Studio Lighting Kit, you did a great job. Rebecca Levey: It was great, it was really easy. Thank you so much.
