How to Treat Female Adult Acne on the Back Stephanie: Hi I’m Steph from Boston I don’t get a lot of acne on my face but I do break out on my back what can I do about those hard to reach areas. Theresa: Stephanie acne is a common skin disorder that affects the face as well as the back and upper chest. If you have acne on the back I would recommend that you purchase an over the counter product that contains Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, these agents are available on bar soaps or liquid soaps that are easy to use and can be applied on the back. If you’re acne is not controlled with this over the counter products I would recommend that you visit your dermatologist who can prescribe oral antibiotics or other treatments that can help alleviate your acne.
