How to Save Money on Children's Parties Audra Lowe: some peers go a little crazy when it comes to their kid’s parties, Jeanette Pavini is here with the Better Ways to Save on birthday bashes for the little ones. Jeanette Pavini: There’s magicians, ponies, DJs the sky is the limit these days when it comes to entertaining kids but you can keep your cost closer to earth and still throw a great party. Now, one of my favorite tips in something I did for my son’s parties is to find a local free kids event that’s taking place. Check with kid’s museums, science center, zoos and libraries. In addition to free entertainment those places have tables or picnic areas to bring the cake. Now, if you’re having the party at home instead of springing for professionals thinks about hiring older neighborhood kids to entertain. They can us makeup or face paint and play music and games or sports. Think about affordable old fashion games like musical chairs or pin the tail on the donkey. Breaking open up Piñata is fun and you can print coloring activity pages from the internet. Now, kids can also play dress up with your old costumes or clothes or you can find things at second hand stores. And when it comes to food a cupcake tower makes a great presentation or you can make a sheet cake and decorate it with gummy candy. Audra: And Friday Jeanette has some great tips on Better Ways to Save at the gas pump.
