How to Reduce the Severity of Autism At this point there is no way that we can yet prevent autism from occurring. However, early intervention with early diagnosis can change a child’s developmental trajectory so that what might have been severe autism can become much milder and the child can be integrated into the classroom and hopefully into a more typical environment.
