Kim: My name is Kim and I'm from LA, and this is ‘Hazan’ and he is drooling a lot. So my question is, does that mean he is teething if he is drooling a lot and biting on his hands and biting on things? That’s pretty much what I want to know. Angelika Rampal: Well, Kim, actually your baby probably is starting to teeth. The first signs of teething are very commonly baby is drooling or starting to chew on things, the side of their cribs, your arms, your wrist. So it’s nothing to worry about, it’s a very normal developmental milestones. And babies teething usually starts around ages four months to seven months. It’s variable in different kids. If you think that your baby is starting, you can offer him teething rings, you can offer him cold objects like popsicles that might help soothe the gums. If you feel like your baby is in a lot of pain, you can do baby acetaminophen or baby ibuprofen, which can also be helpful. And if you’re concerned at all, just bring your baby in to your pediatrician and we’re always happy to help.
