Learn how to prevent postpartum depression before and after your baby is born with these helpful tips.
Hi everybody! I'm Melanie Raposo. Welcome to Mommy's Minute. One of the best ways to prevent Postpartum Depression before the birth of your baby is developing a good Postpartum plan. And number one thing on that plan is take care of yourself and don't be afraid to get help from others. Also try to avoid any major life changes during pregnancy. If you can't help it, try to do those changes as early on in pregnancy as you can. It's a good idea to also make a list of things that need to be done around the house. A lot of times, your friends will call you up and ask, is there anything that I can do to help you? Well the answer should be, yes. Get that list and there are a few options from there. Trust me it will relieve so much stress off of yourself and after your baby is born try to get out once in a while with or without your baby. It will relieve those baby blues and help you loose some of that extra baby weight at the same time. And after you do all of these things, if you still feel depressed, it's important to consult your doctor right away before your depression gets worse.
