Plan a Memorial Day Party on a Budget Video Rhiannon Ally: Now from smart home to a smart party planning a Memorial Day bash may seem like a great idea but it can also be a bit overwhelming especially if you're on a budget. Rebecca Dolgin Executive Editor of TheNest.com is here today with some chic entertaining tips that won’t kill your wallet. Welcome! Rebecca Dolgin: Thank you so much. Rhiannon Ally: We love throwing parties on a budget. Rebecca Dolgin: Yes! That everything you see here is under $100.00 so super fun parties, super cheap. The first thing is the décor. You don’t have to go to overboard with the décor. You can just pick up these great paper lanterns, hang them about and it’s $25.00 for a whole bunch of them. Rhiannon Ally: That’s it? Rebecca Dolgin: Yeah you can add little twinkle lights to if it’s at night. It’s just makes it really pretty so great cheap idea. Rhiannon Ally: 25 bucks, can’t beat that? Rebecca Dolgin: Exactly. Next thing is there’s always this feeling like, “Oh, I’ll just get a 6-pack of beer something like that or a couple of six-pack. Exactly but that can really add up so the thing to do is go at a great vodka or even a cheap vodka because you're mixing it to save $10.00 bottle and then add Kool-Aid and then you can do it all kind in different flavors. The pack is at 50 cents so for $10.50 you're serving you guest all night. Rhiannon Ally: And they’ll be impressed by this. Look how cheap those are? Rebecca Dolgin: Yeah, isn’t it great? Rhiannon Ally: I love it. Rebecca Dolgin: You could do red wines with the raspberries so it’s really pretty and fun and it signature cocktail. Rhiannon Ally: And who doesn’t love Kool-Aid? Rebecca Dolgin Yeah, exactly it is like going retro. Rhiannon Ally: Now what about the food? That’s where a lot of people spend a lot of money. Rebecca Dolgin: It’s true so here’s the trick with the foods. Instead of a pot luck do some type of like of bake off like a guacamole or salsa off or chili off. Make it a competition so all your friends come. They bring their little things and then at the end of the night you choose who the winner is and you get them some treat like a sombrero. This was just $4.00 so with the chips the whole thing is $10.00. Another competitive thing is to get the game scaling so we love this. This was $38.00. It was just a little bit by spurs but you have it all summer or even just a Frisbee and just place some Fun land games or you can do botchy or whatever it is and it’s just kind of gets people moving. It gets their appetites ready for the chips and sauce or whatever you’re serving. Rhiannon Ally: Get the musical radio gets the games going? Rebecca Dolgin: Exactly and then at the end you can even send them off with a great little flavor. These are poppers and what to when you open them up confetti blasts the side of it. So instead of firecrackers or sparklers or anything like that it is just little fun send off. Rhiannon Ally: What an amazing idea. I loved these because this is kind of unofficial kick of the summer. Rebecca Dolgin: Exactly. There are so many great idea on TheNest.com. There’s entertaining board where the girls just exchange great party ideas all day long so tons there for cheap ideas. Rhiannon Ally: All for under a hundred bucks amazing! Thank you for showing us great tips. Rebecca Dolgin: Yes. Thank you very much. My pleasure!
