Host: Just because we are heading in the fall, it doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the beach for fitness. Andrea shows us the steps we need to create our own beach workout in today's GETTING FIT. Andrea Metcalf: Okay, so you are at the beach and you are looking for those components to have a great beach workout. The first thing you want to do is warm up. Walk the beach or take light jogs, don't go all out sprints, you are not ready yet. The second part is doing a dynamic warm up. Try and include things like high knee lifts, really standing up tall pumping those arms. Think of skipping in the sand, hopping from foot to foot and really stretching or even Carioca which is kind of a combination of a great bend cross over, cross back to warm those hips and lower body. Once you've got your warm up down, take a few sprints and get into your strength training. Do things like jumping jacks, burpees, pushups, planks for your core, last exercise would be squats and for those over achievers or if you are looking for a little more burn try and jump at the end of your squat. Take all these elements and make your own beach fitness camp. You will have a great workout; you'll get a better body and what other place is there to workout but the beautiful beach. I am Andrea Metcalf, and I am hoping that you are going to be at the beach sometime soon getting a great workout. Host: Easy enough, you just have to find out perfect beach. Maybe you have a lake if you don't have an ocean nearby. If you have fitness questions for Andrea, she might answer them here on our show. Just email them her at askandrea@bettertv.com.
