The next time you crave something cold and sweet, head to your freezer for my frosty frozen dessert makeover. Hi! I'm Liz Weiss, and today I've got a recipe for watermelon pomegranate pops, designed to hit the spot when you're screaming for icecream, but you don't want all the fat and calories that go with it. This is such an easy recipe. Just begin with a-cup-and-a-half of seedless watermelon. Now, people think that watermelon is water, but it's actually rich in antioxidants, because it is red, like pink grapefruit, and things like tomato, it contains an antioxidant called lycopene which keeps us healthy. We also have half-a-cup of pomegranate blueberry juice. Now pomegranates and blueberries, these are super fruits you maybe hearing about, they too are rich in antioxidants. It's a good thing to get in your diet. So into the blender, these two ingredients go, and then we'll blend it altogether. Once everything is all blended together, all you have to do is pour the mixture into these little individual three-ounce popsicle molds. Then you'll freeze it for three hours, at least. If you have a hard time removing them from the popsicle molds, just run them under warm water for a couple of seconds. I'll tell you, half-a-cup of super premium icecream has over half-a-day's worth of that unhealthy saturated fat. My popsicles are fat-free, naturally sweet, and just as decadent.
